A little more about what's changing (and what's not) at Center for Body Trust

Hello friends,

A few days ago, Sirius shared some pretty big news: she’s stepping into the role of CEO at the Center for Body Trust! We wanted to follow up with a few words of our own, because this is a meaningful moment for us, both personally and organizationally.

First, we're thrilled.

We've spent nearly two decades building, tending, questioning, and evolving Body Trust. What began as a small practice rooted in our shared commitment to changing how people relate to food and their bodies has become something much bigger than either of us could have imagined.

And along the way, we've learned a lot about what it takes to build something together.

We’ve learned about collaboration. About trust. About the challenges of sharing leadership. About how our relationships shape the work we create, and how the work, in turn, shapes us.

Which brings us to Sirius.

Moving at the speed of relationship

One of the things we most appreciate about this transition is that it hasn't been rushed.

The three of us have been learning how to work together as a triad. Learning how to recognize and appreciate one another's gifts, how to navigate differences, how to make room for each other's leadership, and how to imagine a future that none of us could build alone.

That kind of relationship takes time. And we wanted to give it time.

This decision moved at the speed of relationship. Not at the speed of organizational ambition, or a strategic plan, or a timeline someone decided we should meet.

We've had conversations about what we want to create, what each of us needs, and how we can build an organization that reflects the values we teach.

We've had to practice some of those values ourselves.

We don't have it all figured out. But we've come to a place of deep respect, appreciation, and excitement about what becomes possible when we bring our strengths together.

For nearly 20 years, Body Trust has been woven into our lives. We've poured our ideas, creativity, labor, resources, and care into building something we believe deeply in. And like any work that has grown alongside its creators, it has changed us as much as we've changed it.

We're not passing the torch. We're making the circle bigger.

And we couldn't be happier that Sirius is the person joining us in that circle.

We're not going anywhere!

We also want to be clear about something.

We're not stepping away from Body Trust.

Far from it.

We'll continue to be deeply involved as co-founders and stewards of this work, shaping its direction, developing new ideas, and bringing Body Trust into the world in the ways we love most.

You'll still find us facilitating workshops, retreats, and Certification, teaching, writing, having conversations on the podcast, and dreaming up what's next.

Body Trust remains central to our lives and our work.

What we're excited about is the opportunity to share the work of organizational leadership with someone who brings tremendous experience, vision, and a deep commitment to what Body Trust stands for.

Sirius brings gifts that complement and expand our own. Her experience in organizational leadership, systems change, and building partnerships creates possibilities for CFBT that we've been wanting to explore for a long time.

It's about making more room for all of us to do the work we're here to do.

What comes next?

We're asking some big questions about the future of Body Trust.

How do we deepen the work we've already begun? How do we support the professionals carrying Body Trust into their communities? How do we bring this framework into more organizations, institutions, and systems? How do we continue to respond to a world that seems to find new ways to teach people to distrust their bodies?

And how do we build an organization capable of holding all of that?

We don't have all the answers yet, but we're excited to explore them together.

For those of you who've been with us for years, and those who are just finding your way here, we want you to know how grateful we are.

Your participation, your questions, your trust, and the ways you've carried this work into your own lives and communities have helped make this next chapter possible.

We're so glad Sirius is joining us in this new capacity, and we're looking forward to seeing what the three of us can build together.

With love and appreciation,

Dana & Hilary
